Cox and Watson to Present LES Webinar on Negotiating Techniques

Pamela L. Cox and Julie M. Watson will present a webinar on negotiating techniques for the Licensing Executives Society (LES) on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. CST. The webinar, "Negotiating with Style: Using Negotiation Styles and Other Communications Tools for Better Results," explores the concept that how we communicate can affect outcomes as much as what we communicate. The webinar will discuss how to recognize and use negotiation styles, explore the dynamics of power at play in a negotiation, and consider other communication tools to move difficult negotiations forward. Ms. Cox, partner and chair of the IP Transactions group at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun, is a frequent speaker on license terms and negotiations. Her practice concentrates on counseling related to intellectual property transactions, protection and transfer for clients that range from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions. Ms. Cox is chair of the Life Sciences Committee for LESI, an International Delegate for LES USA/Canada and former Chicago Chapter chair for LES.

Ms. Watson, special counsel, has over 25 years’ in-house experience structuring complex intellectual property transactions and managing intellectual property portfolios. She concentrates her practice on client counseling related to intellectual property transactions with a particular emphasis in technology startups and university technology transfers.
