Cox to Speak on Term Sheets at AUTM 2017 Annual Central Region Meeting

Pamela Cox, Chair of Marshall Gerstein’s IP Transactions practice, will join Peter Galindez, Legal Counsel at Mayo Foundation, Marie Kerbeshian, Vice President of Technology Commercialization at Indiana University Research & Technology Corporation, and Sulin Shah, Lead Counsel of U.S. Hematology at Shire, in a panel discussion regarding term sheets, moderated by Charles C. Valauskas, Legal Counsel at Valauskas Corder LLC.

“Term Sheets – Deal Savers or Just Time Stealers”

The panel will explore the effective use of term sheets for internal and external use as well as provide other efficient negotiation constructs. This session will cover strategies and approaches for these tools, terms to use, whether the syntax is business-speak, legal or a blend, and many other aspects for effective communication. The panel will also explore international variations and potential legal hazards.
This session is approved for CLE credit by the state of Illinois.

Pamela Cox concentrates on counseling related to intellectual property transactions, protection, and transfer for clients ranging from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions. As a patent attorney who has managed intellectual property portfolios in-house, Ms. Cox understands her clients’ intellectual property and agreement needs, and remains passionately engaged until achieving their strategic objectives. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Global Healthcare Innovation Alliance Accelerator (GHIAA), Ms. Cox is Chairman-elect to the Board of Governors of Certified Licensing Professionals (CLP), an international delegate for the Licensing Executives Society USA/Canada (LES), Vice Chair of the External Relations Committee for the Licensing Executive Society International (LESI), Advisor to the Life Science Committee for LESI and Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University Pritzker Law School.
