Gass and Nielsen to Speak at 2013 BIO International Convention
David A. Gass and Matthew C. Nielsen will speak at the 2013 BIO International Convention held in Chicago in April, 2013. For the fourth year in a row, Mr. Gass will be a panelist in a discussion among experienced international intellectual property attorneys on “How IP Issues Impact Innovations in Biomarker Diagnostics & Personalized Medicine.” This session will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, April 22 and is part of the Personalized Medicine and Diagnostics Forum track of the convention’s educational program.
Mr. Nielsen will moderate a panel entitled “Multi-Party and Cross-Border Patent Issues Affecting Biotech Businesses,” during which an international panel of attorneys will discuss how recent developments in U.S. case law may affect innovators’ abilities to protect technologies that competitors may seek to copy and divide among multiple parties and/or countries. The session will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 and is part of the Biotech Patenting and Tech Transfer track.
The BIO International Convention is “the largest global event for the biotechnology industry,” organized by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), which represents more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the United States and in more than 30 other nations.
