Chicago, IL

Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP is pleased to support women and their success in science through its sponsorship of the 11th Annual Women in Space Science Award Celebration hosted by the Women’s Board of the Alder Planetarium. The event will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Union League Club in Chicago and includes a reception, luncheon, keynote presentation and student program.

This event is an annual program of the Women’s Board of the Chicago Adler Planetarium to honor women in science and engage middle-school age girls in a science-based program to spark and fuel their interests in science, technology, engineering and math. Marshall, Gerstein & Borun associate attorney Jennifer Burnette is a member of the Adler Planetarium’s Women’s Board.

This year's Women in Space Science award recipient is rocket scientist and spacecraft systems engineer, Amber Gell. Ms. Gell is a member of the team working on the Orion Project—the pivotal next step in taking humans beyond low earth orbit (LEO). The Orion Spacecraft replaces the Space Shuttle and will be used to return humans to the Moon, rendezvous with asteroids, and explore Mars.
