Graham to Speak at USPTO IP in China September 12, 2007 Kansas City, Missouri MGB partner Michael Graham will be speaking at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office seminar, "China's Impact on Intellectual Property - Protecting Your Intellectual Property in China and the Global Marketplace," September 19-20, 2007 in Kansas City Missouri. Mr. Graham's topic is "The China Syndrome in the Internet Age: The Challenge of Counterfeiting on the Internet" and will focus on identifying, tracking, and taking steps to prevent and stop the exchange of counterfeit goods via the internet.
"China's Impact on Intellectual Property" is a free, two-day, seminar is designed to help businesses learn how to protect against intellectual property theft from China, the number one source of counterfeit products seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2006, accounting for 81 percent of all seizures. The seminar will feature intellectual property (IP) experts from the private sector in the U.S. and China and from the United States Government, and will include presentations on protecting and enforcing trademarks and patents in China, case studies illustrating these principles in practice, and real world stories and practical tips from companies on the frontline of IP rights protection and enforcement in China.
