"Patent Opposition Practice in the U.S. and Lessons Learned from Abroad" April 14, 2006 Mike Borun will be a featured speaker at BIO 2006 during a session entitled "Patent Opposition Practice in the United States and Lessons Learned from Abroad." The session will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM in room 405B.
Borun will discuss the status and highlights of legislation to create opposition procedures in the United States. Joining him will be experienced attorneys from Europe, Japan, and Australia (jurisdictions that have had procedures for post-grant challenges to patents) who will provide their perspectives of opposition procedures, costs, and perceived benefits and pitfalls for companies thinking of opposing a competitor’s patent and companies whose patents have been opposed.
