Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, an intellectual property law firm, adds Michael Coyne as an associate.

Michael Coyne focuses on patent prosecution in the mechanical engineering disciplines. He previously served as a project engineer at Kolcraft Enterprises and Fellowes, Inc., where he was involved in all aspects of new consumer product development, with an emphasis on the design of injection molded plastic parts and assemblies. Mr. Coyne was also a design engineer at Grayhill, Inc., developing and modifying circuit board-mounted electrical components and related testing and production equipment. He is experienced in the design of tooling, electro-mechanical systems and automated packaging equipment.

Mr. Coyne received his J.D. from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law (2008), where he was an associate editor of the Loyola University Chicago International Law Review. While a law student, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael T. Mason, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Coyne received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago (1998). He is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
