June 21, 2010

Patrick D. Ertel and Robert M. Gerstein have been selected in 2010 by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine as "World’s Top Intellectual Property Strategists." Both are on the IAM Strategy 250 list for the second year in a row.

"Having two of our partners named to the IAM 250 for the second year running is further recognition of our leadership in the area of intellectual property law," said Jeffrey S. Sharp, managing partner of Marshall, Gerstein & Borun. "Pat and Bob bring technical and real-world experience that informs their strategic insights and delivers ongoing value to our clients."

Patrick D. Ertel has cultivated a niche practice in counseling major corporations and technology-based start-ups on strategic planning issues centered on intellectual property. In his 35 years of practice, he has become known for negotiating and drafting technology-based agreements to extract full value from his clients' intellectual property.

Robert M. Gerstein has been with Marshall, Gerstein & Borun since 1988. His intellectual property practice focuses on patent and trademark licensing transactions, along with copyright, unfair competition and contract litigation. Mr. Gerstein is also experienced in patent and trademark prosecution and is a member of the Firm's executive committee.

The IAM Strategy 250 - The World's Leading IP Strategists identifies individuals who offer world-class services related to the development and implementation of strategies that enable intellectual property owners to maximize the value of their patent and trademark assets. Attorneys, consultants and financiers from around the world were nominated and only those who demonstrate "exceptional skill sets, as well as profound insights into the development, creation and management of IP value" were selected, according to the magazine.
