Paul C. Craane Provides a Final Word in 2010 on Bilski

While the U.S. Supreme Court will address several important patent law issues in 2011, all eyes were on Bilski v. Kappos in 2010. Having commented previously on Bilski, its progeny, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s guidelines, Paul C. Craane was asked for his thoughts on Bilski for IPLaw360’s article “Bilski Headlines Influential IP Rulings In 2010.” Both prosecutors and litigators have something to learn from Bilski, noted Mr. Craane. While some attorneys would have appreciated a more detailed opinion, Mr. Craane believes that Bilski will remain memorable for the guidance provided on patent eligibility.
