Eric M. Brusca, Ph.D., is involved in patent prosecution, with special focus on biotechnology-related issues. Dr. Brusca has worked with clients in a wide variety of biotechnology matters including domestic and foreign patent prosecution, U.S. interference and foreign opposition proceedings, and non-infringement/validity opinions.
The technical focus of many of Dr. Brusca’s patent prosecution has included:
- Recombinant DNA
- Protein and antibody technology
- Gene therapy
- Growth factors
- Sequence analysis
- Vaccine development technology
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Brusca researched RNA-protein interactions and catalytic RNA molecules in the Department of Chemistry at Loyola University Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Loyola University Chicago in 2001. Throughout his graduate studies, Dr. Brusca specialized in research topics pertaining to biochemistry, molecular biology and microbiology. He holds a M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Brusca received his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School.
