Paul Brown is an associate at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun. His practice focuses on intellectual property-related transactions. Mr. Brown has experience drafting and negotiating patent, technology, trademark, copyright and software licenses, as well as joint venture, strategic alliance, supply, technology-related services and other intellectual property agreements. Mr. Brown also has experience in patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, and contract litigation, and has represented clients in intellectual property matters involving many subjects, including, video games, casino games, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, life sciences, and software.
Previously, Mr. Brown was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where he worked on intellectual property-related transactions and handled the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions primarily in the areas of private equity and leveraged buy-out transactions.
Mr. Brown received his J.D., cum laude, from the Northwestern University School of Law in 2001 and a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998.
Mr. Brown is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and a volunteer for the Lawyers for the Creative Arts. Mr. Brown also co-owns and co-manages an independent electronic music label, Siteholder Records, LLC.
