Thomas Ring to Participate in Practising Law Institute’s Fundamentals of Patent Prosecution
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP special counsel Thomas J. Ring will participate in Practising Law Institute (PLI)'s Fundamentals of Patent Prosecution 2016: A Boot Camp for Claim Drafting & Amendment Writing, being held at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center in Chicago, Illinois, from May 10–12, 2016. This three-day program will feature lecture sessions and clinics that follow the patent application process—from invention disclosure and patent application preparation, through prosecution, issuance and beyond, to litigation and opinion preparation.
Mr. Ring will participate in a clinic on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, beginning at 1:45 p.m. Individuals will receive an application amendment problem relating to a sample invention. Participant’s responses will be reviewed by Mr. Ring and other professionals in a small group and on a one-on-one basis. For more information and to register for the PLI program, click here.
Thomas J. Ring has more than 25 years' experience in various aspects of patent and trademark law, including the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications; representing clients in re-examinations and interferences; preparation of patent and trademark opinions including non-infringement, invalidity, product clearance, and trademark availability opinions; patent and trademark litigation; negotiating and drafting patent and trademark licenses; and IP due diligence reviews and IP litigation support. Mr. Ring has been selected by Chicago Law Bulletin’s Leading Lawyer Network as a "Leading Lawyer."
