January 24, 2013

Partner Maureen Beacom Gorman has been elected as the 2013 vice president for external affairs of the Women’s Bar Foundation. In 2011–2012, Ms. Gorman served as director of the foundation, which was established in 1966 to provide scholarships, awards or other financial aid to deserving and qualified women for the study of law in accredited Illinois law schools.

In her practice, Ms. Gorman works directly with clients to prosecute, secure and enforce their copyrights and trademarks. Her invaluable familiarity with the inside workings of the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a former trademark examining attorney offers a balanced perspective to better counsel clients in trademark prosecution, enforcement, litigation and licensing in the United States and internationally.
