Technical Specialist Spencer Stong will join a panel discussion outlining intellectual property (IP) career opportunities for professionals with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) backgrounds. The discussion, hosted by the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC), includes a variety of Chicago-area IP professionals. The panel will focus on the many career paths for college graduates with technical backgrounds, including career opportunities as a Technical Specialist, Patent Agent, and Attorney.

Spencer assists in drafting and prosecuting patent applications within Marshall Gerstein's Electrical & Computer Technologies Practice Group and is experienced in the areas of subject matter eligibility, prior art, and enforceability. He was previously an Associate Researcher at the Joint Genome Institute and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. He is a volunteer at the Rare Genome Institute, performing computational variant analysis.

The discussion takes place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law. Spencer will join:
