Shannon E. Hughes assists in preparing and prosecuting both foreign and domestic patents related to electrical and computer technologies. Ms. Hughes assists clients in obtaining and protecting intellectual property rights in industries including control systems, telecommunications, wireless devices, mobile applications, e-commerce, and insurance services.
Background and Credentials
Ms. Hughes earned her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where she received the ABA-Bloomberg BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law and was a Notre Dame Law School Fellowship recipient. During law school, Ms. Hughes was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and served as the production editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics and Public Policy. Additionally, Ms. Hughes participated in the Notre Dame Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic, where she assisted clients in preparing both patent and trademark applications. Ms. Hughes also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, with a second major in Philosophy and a minor in Italian, from the University of Notre Dame. During her undergraduate studies, she received the Dockweiler Medal for best senior philosophy thesis and was a member of both the Sigma Pi Sigma Physics Honors Society and the Glynn Family Honors Program.
