2010 Lavender Law Career Fair and Conference
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP will participate in the 2010 Lavender Law Career Fair and Conference on August 26–28, 2010. Jeremy D. Protas will represent the Firm at the Career Fair while attending the conference. Mr. Protas will also attend the National LGBT Bar Association Board meeting in connection with his recent appointment to the National LGBT Bar Association Board of Directors.
Jeremy D. Protas prosecutes and secures patents in diverse technologies including process control, wireless communication, software development, and retail systems. Mr. Protas employs this understanding to develop and execute strategies that protect his clients' patent interests. As a result, his clients value the integration of skilled intellectual property legal advice and vigorous advocacy with his understanding of their businesses.
Diversity in the legal profession is important to Mr. Protas. He actively contributes to the activities of Marshall Gerstein’s diversity committee and participates in the Firm’s marketing and community outreach efforts, particularly in the LGBT community. In 2009, Mr. Protas founded the Jeremy D. Protas LGBT Patent Law Scholarship. The scholarship aims to raise awareness of patent law among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender law students, in furtherance of the goal of increasing the number of LGBT lawyers in the patent law community.
