April 18, 2025 | Pam Cox to Present on Licensing for Equalize Startups

Pam Cox, Partner and IP Transactions Chair at Marshall Gerstein, will present a session titled "Startup Licensing 101" with Nichole Mercier as part of a training and educational series presented by Equalize Startups. Pam has been invited to present on the key considerations for start-ups licensing technology from their university, hospital or research institute. Equalize Startups is a pitch competition and platform for coaching and promoting women academic inventors as they navigate the startup ecosystem and gain valuable connections. Participants receive regular mentoring sessions with an experienced leader in their field and seminars to help develop business ideas and pitch decks.

As a patent attorney who has worked in-house, Pam Cox’s practice focuses on unraveling complex deal structures and devising creative agreement solutions as well as IP protection strategies and alternative dispute resolution for clients ranging from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions. A long-time active supporter of advancing the licensing profession and governance, Pam is Past Corporate Secretary and six-year Member of the Board of the Licensing Executive Society International (LESI), Co-Founder and Chair of the Women in Licensing Alliance (WILA), the former President of the Certified Licensing Professionals, Inc., and multi-term former Member of the Board, frequent invited international presenter and instructor including for AUTM, and an adjunct professor of Intellectual Property Licensing at Northwestern School of Law.
