Partner Ryan Schermerhorn will be a featured seminar speaker at the University of Illinois (U of I) at Urbana-Champaign for undergraduate students studying Industrial & Enterprise Systems Engineering. Ryan, who obtained his B.S. in general engineering from U of I, will present on his legal career as a patent attorney, how his engineering background is leveraged daily when guiding clients through all stages patent prosecution, and what working at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP looks like.

At Marshall Gerstein, Ryan is the Chair of the Recruiting Committee in addition to his membership in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. He takes great pride in mentoring attorneys and professionals at the firm and he extends his mentorship to undergraduate students.
