Partner Pamela L. Cox will serve on a panel in PROPEL’s workshop entitled, “The Ins and Outs of In-Licensing and Out-Licensing” hosted at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP on August 18, 2014. Along with Ms. Cox, panelists John Bathery (Takeda Pharmaceuticals International), Kevin Lynch (AbbVie) and Thelma Tennant (The University of Chicago) will discuss best practices of in-licensing and out-licensing for early stage life sciences companies.

Ms. Cox, chair of Marshall Gerstein's IP Transactions Group, concentrates on intellectual property transactions and the strategic use of intellectual property assets for clients ranging from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions. Pam Cox is "highly recommended" for licensing and recognized as "a pre-eminent authority on university technology transfer and licensing," by Intellectual Asset Management.

The Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization (iBIO) aims to provide students, faculty and other university affiliates the resources and professional development opportunities to fulfill this mission, which is to bridge the gap between academia and the biotechnology industry. iBIO’s PROPEL helps guide the development of formation-stage and early-stage life sciences companies by providing entrepreneurs with access to specialized resources and expertise to prepare them for early-stage funding.
