Partner Jeremy D. Protas to Speak at Diversity in the Law Panel for IPLAC
In celebration of Pride Month, the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) will host a special, virtual presentation to discuss LGBTQ+ diversity in law. Partner Jeremy D. Protas is one of several esteemed panelists to join this lively discussion, moderated by IPLAC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Co-Chair Cynthia Assam.

The Honorable Judge Mary Rowland, Dr. Nabeela Rasheed, and Danielle Johnson are among panelists who will cover topics such as:
- Challenges specific to LGBTQ+ legal professionals
- Best practices to make a tangible impact in the workplace
- How to better champion legal professionals holding multiple marginalized identities
Jeremy counsels clients on all types of patent-related matters, while focusing on securing patents in diverse technologies including process control, wireless communication, business methods, medical devices, and bioinformatics. More recently, clients in the exciting and emerging field of bioinformatics have turned to Jeremy for his ability to understand and help protect advancements at the intersection of software and biotechnology. Since 2018, Jeremy has been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” by Leading Lawyers, a division of Law Bulletin Publishing Company. He was also named one of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s (MCCA) 2013 Rising Stars, and in 2012 he was named one of the best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 by the National LGBT Bar Association.
