Rueth to Present at the 2012 Society for Research Administrators International Annual Meeting
Partner Randall Rueth will present sessions at the 2012 Society for Research Administrators (SRA) International Annual Meeting during its conference on October 1–3, which will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Rueth will co-present a session on “Intellectual Property Basics for the IP Administrator.” The presentation is geared to new IP administrators and will address the main categories of intellectual property assets and measures used to protect those assets. The presentation will describe steps that can be taken during proposal development, award acceptance, project management, technology transfer and contract negotiation that provide opportunities to better protect intellectual property assets.
Mr. Rueth is also a co-presenter in a session on “Privacy in the Digital Age.” This session will address the privacy issues that arise in the research setting; the steps government is taking to regulate and control related research activities; the laws and regulations that most affect the compilation and use of personal, private and confidential information in research and resulting from research, treatment and education; and the legal issues surrounding technology applications that both protect individual privacy and evade tracking.
The Society of Research Administrators International is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and professional development of research administrators working in varied organizational settings, as well as the advancement of research administration as a profession around the world.
