Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution to Resolve Intellectual Property and Licensing Disputes

Donald W. Rupert, Partner at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun will present on the “Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution to Resolve Intellectual Property and Licensing Disputes,” along with Mr. Robert Matlin, Vice President of the American Arbitration Association. This program will include tips on how to draft an effective ADR clause as well as best practices when arbitrating an IP Dispute. The upcoming CLE-earning event is sponsored by the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) and the day’s program will take place at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law.

With 35 years’ experience, Mr. Rupert has handled over 100 IP litigation matters in the chemical, consumer products, heavy equipment, pharmaceutical, and computer industries. He has been lead trial counsel in jury and bench trials, in the US and internationally, and lead appellate counsel in IP appeals; he has also acted as lead IP attorney in commercial transactions having a cumulative value of over $15 billion.
