September 16, 2022 | Partner Julianne Hartzell to Lead Litigation Ethics in Social Media Session

September 16, 2022
Virtual

Partner Julianne Hartzell will lead a panel discussion, “Litigation Ethics in the Social Media Age,” on Friday, September 16, 2022. The virtual, continuing legal education (CLE) presentation will help newly admitted attorneys –those transitioning to a new practice area – and general litigators uncover and understand the various ethical implications of social media on their legal practice.

The session will dive into the implications of ABA Model Rule 1.1, comment 8, regarding “maintaining competence,” in which attorneys are obligated to understand and keep abreast of the benefits and risks of social media on a client’s representation. It will also look into the impact of several other ABA Model Rules on topics such as virtual misconduct among jurors, pre-litigation investigations concerning adverse parties, witness compensation, discovery in social media, and the use of social media to communicate case status and results.

Julianne will be joined in the two hour meeting by fellow intellectual property attorney Ralph Gabric and litigation consultant John Gilleland. Attendees will be eligible for CLE credits, depending on the state in which they practice. See more information on Julianne’s “Litigation Ethics in the Social Media Age” CLE presentation.
