Patent Agent Lilian Ficht will be a panelist at a virtual career planning event on April 14, 2021 to discuss pursuing a career in patent law. The event is co-hosted by Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC)’s Women in IP and DE&I Committees, and the Society of Women Engineers chapters at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University.

The program will include a discussion regarding pursuing a career in patent law and the way in which an engineering degree can assist in such a career. Moderated by Atanu Das, Of Counsel at Guntin & Gust, PLC, Lilian will be a panelist alongside:

  • Manisha Bhangare, Associate General Counsel, Product at Facebook, Inc.
  • Keelin Bielski, Associate at Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd.

Lilian Ficht advises clients in the computer, communications, electronics, control, industrial, service, and consumer product industries to advance and protect the value of their technologies. She secures domestic and foreign intellectual property rights, constructively assesses and manages patent portfolios, and investigates patentability and freedom-to-operate issues. She has been with Marshall Gerstein for 14 years.
