Brusca Joins Illini Biotechnology Organization Advisory Board
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, an intellectual property law firm, announces that Eric Brusca, Ph.D., J.D., joined the Illini Biotechnology Organization (IBO) Advisory Board. IBO’s mission is to bridge the gap between the local academia and the biotechnology industry.
“Being involved in the life sciences industry and having spent my academic career locally, it is essential that we promote the economic prosperity of our region by tying it back to the universities. Like Marshall Gerstein, many of our clients and business partners are long-standing members of the Midwest business community, and through the IBO, I look forward to working with them to continue to drive our region’s biotech innovation and business interests,” said Brusca.
An attorney at Marshall Gerstein, Brusca focuses on patent prosecution, particularly biotechnology-related issues. He has worked with clients on a wide variety of biotechnology matters, including domestic and foreign patent prosecution, U.S. interference and foreign opposition proceedings and non-infringement/validity opinions.
Brusca received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School (2007), his Ph.D. in chemistry from Loyola University Chicago (2001) and his M.S. and B.S. in microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1996 and 1998, respectively). He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
