Marshall Gerstein Expands Involvement with Leadership Council on Legal Diversity
As part of its long-time, high priority effort to support diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the legal industry and Chicago community, Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP will expand its involvement with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) in 2022.
Since first becoming involved with LCLD in 2021, Marshall Gerstein, along with several of its clients, has participated in numerous LCLD activities, including virtual conferences and continuing DEI education. The LCLD provides a platform for clients and firms to work together to meet their DEI goals. The organization’s success in diversifying the legal profession and moving the needle comes from action-oriented tactics such as the Leaders at the Front pledge, which challenges firm leaders to create their own plan addressing critical areas for impact. The LCLD works with leaders to track their progress and provide support as they work to make their organization more equitable and inclusive. This holistic approach to diversity, equity and inclusion helps clients and firms expand their diverse talent and support their inclusion and belonging as members of the legal industry in Chicago and nationally.
This year, the firm plans to expand its partnership by participating in the LCLD 1L Scholars program for first-year law students. This increased involvement will support the firm’s goals in expanding its talent pipeline by reaching out to more junior professionals and assisting them in their career and skill development.
Marshall Gerstein actively supports more than two dozen organizations that advocate for DEI, and is proud to be one of the first law firms to pilot the Midsize Mansfield Rule Certification. Learn more about our commitment to DEI.
