Meggan Duffy Joins All-Women Speaking Agenda for TIPE | 2022
Partner Meggan Duffy was part of an inspirational all-women agenda of speakers and panelists at TIPE | 2022, powered by Women in 3D Printing. The second annual virtual conference welcomed attendees from around the globe to connect and share case studies, valuable insights on additive manufacturing applications, and networking opportunities. Meggan participated in the conference’s Economics Track, where she spoke with attendees about “Patenting Considerations for Protecting 3D Printing Innovations.” She is a speaker and author on the topic of 3D printing, having also contributed to numerous industry publications such as 24x7 Magazine, AIPLA INNOVATE Magazine, and the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association Journal.
Her presentation focused on helping individuals who use additive manufacturing technologies understand if their innovations are eligible for patent protection; and, on creating an inclusive culture within the broader economic landscape where innovative contributions of female and diverse employees is sought out. Meggan explained these insights would help prevent lost economic value associated with leaving innovations unpatented while also providing increased opportunities for female and diverse employees to be named as inventors on patents. Combined, these efforts would bolster representation and ultimately decrease gender disparities in patenting as well.
Meggan secures valuable domestic and foreign patent rights for a variety of clients in the mechanical, electromechanical, consumer products, medical devices, e-commerce, and insurance services sectors. Through her skillful patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling, she helps clients achieve their business goals by advancing and protecting their technologies through skillful patent preparation and prosecution.
