Partner Ryan Schermerhorn Recognized in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 40 Under Forty
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP is pleased to announce that the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin has named partner Ryan Schermerhorn to its 2023 list of 40 Under Forty. The list recognizes attorneys under the age of 40 who are considered the “up and comers” of law in Illinois based on results achieved for clients, lawyering skills, and bar and community involvement.
Colleagues in the legal community noted Ryan's ambition – which focuses on growth in knowledge, excellence in his craft, and community building rather than power and prestige; his focus on listening openly and looking at all sides of an issue; and his skill in practicing patent law as evidenced by the trust clients have placed in him to protect the intellectual property at the crux of their businesses.
Ryan, a registered patent attorney with an engineering background, is part of Marshall Gerstein’s Industrial & Mechanical Technologies practice group. In addition to having served as the firm’s hiring partner, he is a member of the Richard Linn Inn of Court’s executive board and a board member of Public Narrative, an organization that encourages individuals to share their viewpoints with others to foster broader understanding.
The complete 40 Under Forty list has been published as a special report on the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
