United States Patent and Trademark Office Now Accepting Applications for 2013 Innovation Expo

November 16, 2012

The Department of Commerce’s United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is calling on cutting-edge companies to submit applications for a place in the agency’s 2013 Innovation Expo. The purpose of the expo is to demonstrate how the U.S. promotes and protects innovation and to show how powerful incentives are driving American innovators to new levels of technological and economic growth. The expo will be held at the USPTO’s campus in Alexandria, Va. on June 20–22, 2013.

Exhibitors will be chosen based on their contributions to the U.S. market and their ability to engage the public’s interest in patents, among other criteria. To be selected, technologies must be protected by a U.S. patent, and at least one of the technology’s inventors must be a U.S. citizen.

The deadline to apply for a spot in the expo is February 13, 2013. Space is limited, and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.
