“Women on Boards and in Key Leadership,” Women in Licensing Alliance, Licensing Executive Society International

Pamela L. Cox, Partner and Chair of the IP Transactions practice group at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, will moderate a panel discussion entitled, “Women on Boards and in Key Leadership,” presented by the Women in Licensing Alliance (WILA) of the Licensing Executive Society International (LESI).

Cox, who also co-founded and chairs WILA, will be joined by Marla Persky, a partner with Executive Coaching Connections, LLC; Victoria Espinel, CEO of The Software Alliance, also known as BSA; and Lesley Millar-Nicholson, director of the Technology Licensing Office at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The panelists will share their experiences with serving on boards and excelling in governance.

About the panelists

Marla Persky, current CEO and President of WOMN LLC and a partner with Executive Coaching Connections, LLC, has over 20 years of experience leading global pharmaceutical, device, diagnostic, biologic and OTC product businesses and legal departments. Some of her past notable roles include President of Epicurean Travel LLC; Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation, and Acting Global General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Baxter International, Inc.

Victoria Espinel, President and CEO at BSA | The Software Alliance, leads strategic efforts helping shape the technology landscape worldwide. She is a “respected authority on the intersection of technology innovation, global markets, and public policy.” (source) Victoria serves as the President of Software.org: The BSA Foundation, is a founding and ongoing co-sponsor of Girls Who Code’s Washington, DC summer immersion program, has been a Board Member of ChIPs (“Chiefs in Intellectual Property”) since 2020, and frequently presents around the world on technology policy and international economic issues.

As Director of MIT Technology Licensing Office (TLO), Lesley Millar-Nicholson leads the team managing the technology transfer process and intellectual assets for MIT’s inventions. She is a Certified Licensing Professional, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Licensing Executive Society (LES). Before joining MIT, Lesley served as the Director of the Office of Technology Management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and past President of the Board of Governors of Certified Licensing Professionals Inc. (CLP Inc.).
