As Keiretsu Forum Midwest launches its Thought Leadership Series, Managing Partner Jeffrey Sharp and Partner Michael Muczynski will be speaking at its first invitation-only event to discuss the value of intellectual property to investors.

In this first session, Jeff and Mike will dissect the importance of intellectual property from the perspective of an investor and answer questions for attendees, such as:
- Why is intellectual property so valuable?
- How does intellectual property add value to our investment?
- How tangible of an asset is it?
- Can we build an investment thesis around intellectual property?
- Should we be tracking any trends?
Jeff Sharp is a registered patent attorney with more than 30 years of experience in patent prosecution, litigation, and transactional work who focuses his practice in the areas of biotechnology, chemistry, and chemical engineering. He has handled matters in a wide variety of biotechnology disciplines, such as pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and gene therapy; recombinant nucleic acid technologies, including plant biotechnology; and in-vivo and in-vitro diagnostic and gene-sequencing methods. He is a member of the Keiretsu Forum Midwest Chapter and has been with Marshall Gerstein for 36 years.
Mike Muczynski advises clients on all issues relating to patent strategy and portfolio management, with particular emphasis in patent prosecution and opinions in pharmaceutical and other chemical fields. His clients benefit from his previous litigation experience involving generic pharmaceuticals, in anticipating potential issues and strengthening patents through prosecution. He is a member of the Keiretsu Forum Midwest Chapter and has been with Marshall Gerstein for 22 years.
