Marshall Gerstein Shortlisted for Five LMG Life Sciences Awards 2017

Marshall Gerstein is pleased to announce that the Firm has been shortlisted in five categories for the fifth annual LMG Life Sciences Awards which honor the very best life sciences practitioners and firms over the past 12 months from the United States, Canada, and Europe. Nominations garnered include:

The LMG Life Sciences Award nominations are based on research and submissions undertaken by the editors of Euromoney’s 2017 LMG Life Sciences guide. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on September 13, 2017 at the Essex House Hotel in New York City.

LMG Life Sciences is the publisher of an annual guide aimed at providing attorneys and law firms with information on the legal market and the U.S. life sciences industry.

Sandip H. Patel has broad patent law experience. Mr. Patel has successfully obtained patents regarding chemical and chemical engineering inventions for a diverse collection of companies that specialize in commodity chemicals, consumer products, fuel production, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors. Further, Mr. Patel has managed patent portfolios and offered strategic opinion counseling for these companies to their competitive advantage. Mr. Patel has counseled clients in litigation before the district and Federal Circuit courts, has extensive experience in leading interferences, reexaminations, and inter partes reviews before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Patel successfully served recently as lead counsel in contested interferences and inter partes review proceedings, securing favorable judgments regarding mechanical and chemical engineering inventions. Mr. Patel continues to represent clients in these types of proceedings, including an interference pending at the Patent Office regarding fundamental CRISPR technologies.

Katherine L. Neville, Ph.D. delivers guidance to secure patent protection in all areas of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals worldwide. Dr. Neville calls on her advanced studies in microbiology and immunology and over a decade of patent prosecution experience to advance their business goals. In addition to counseling clients in strategic management of worldwide patent rights, Dr. Neville’s extensive experience includes patent preparation, opinions, due diligence analyses for clients interested in partnering, and various patent proceedings, including interference, reexamination and opposition proceedings. Dr. Neville serves clients ranging from non-profit institutions to biotech start-ups to big pharma, and capably understands their diverse needs across a wide range of technologies.
