Marshall Gerstein and Three Partners Ranked Among World’s Top Trademark Firms and Practitioners
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP and three of its attorneys have been recognized in the 2016 edition of the World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000. This marks the sixth time that the Firm and its partners have been recognized by the prestigious guide. This year’s honorees include:
- Gregory Chinlund, partner and chair of the Firm’s Trademark Practice Group
- Maureen Beacom Gorman, partner
- Richard LaBarge, partner
WTR 1000 describes the Firm as having “exceptional institutional expertise in intellectual property, along with an enviable client base which continually encourages it to raise its game.” Chairing the Firm’s Trademark Practice Group is Gregory Chinlund, whom WTR 1000 describes as “a global strategy maven whose wide-ranging expertise includes a partiality for complex pharmaceutical mandates.” WTR 1000 describes Richard LaBarge, as having “unprecedented success in non-traditional marks registration [which] bears testament to his ingenuity and substantive know-how.” Another seasoned practitioner who is intimately familiar with the workings of the USPTO is former examiner Maureen Beacom Gorman. According to WTR 1000, “the sheer volume and variety of applications that she has evaluated in her time make her one of the most experienced attorneys on the scene. However, her talents don’t stop at prosecution; she has also carved out a niche for herself in the anti-counterfeiting space.”
The WTR 1000 is an independent multimedia publication dedicated to reporting on trademark issues for in-house and private practitioners internationally. It also identifies firms and individuals setting industry benchmarks for trademark legal services. To select firms for inclusion in the WTR 1000, World Trademark Review conducted hundreds of interviews with trademark specialists, both private practice and in-house, in more than 50 key jurisdictions. Top-ranking finalists were selected as the firms and individuals to whom trademark professionals turn to for substantial trademark services when seeking local and international legal partners.
