Biography
Topher is an Associate within Marshall Gerstein’s Industrial & Mechanical Technologies Practice Group. He has experience drafting office action responses and claim amendments, conducting freedom-to-operate and patentability searches and communicating results to clients, and preparing and analyzing utility and design patent applications.
In his free time, Topher enjoys golfing, participating in local recreational sports leagues, and trying out different Chicago breweries. He is a big fan of the English soccer club Chelsea and the Chicago Cubs, and has always had an interest in anything aerospace-related.
Background and Credentials
Topher graduated from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in May 2025. At Northwestern, Topher was the Co-President of the Intellectual Property Law Society and the Managing Notes Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. Prior to law school, he received his Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Topher joined Marshall Gerstein as a Summer Associate in 2023.
