Biography

Dave assists in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, assesses patentability, and provides technical due diligence as a Technical Specialist at Marshall Gerstein. He is a member of the firm's Electrical & Computer Technologies Group where he supports clients in protecting their intellectual property. He is skilled at connecting the technical and business worlds by breaking down complex problems into more manageable elements that can be clearly articulated with attention to detail. Outside of his client focused work Dave enjoys biking, kayaking, and wood working.

Background and Credentials

Dave has more than two decades of industry experience within telecommunications and electronics with research and development, product management, and innovation and growth. He has held technical roles serving product management, global operations, and engineering. Throughout his time within industry, Dave has proposed new innovative processes, spearheaded new product development and launches, and pioneered new market categories. He is a patent holder and has authored technical publications within Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks and cognitive radio beacons. Dave is an avid inventor and is noted as one of the Founding Fathers of the cognitive radio.

Dave obtained his B.S. in electrical engineering from Iowa State University, he obtained his M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and he obtained his Executive MBA from Northwestern University.
