June 10, 2026 | Ryan Phelan Speaking at AIPLA’s Electronic and Computer Patent Summit

June 10, 2026
Chicago, IL

Partner Ryan Phelan is a featured panelist at the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA)’s Electronic and Computer Patent Law Summit. Ryan will join Matthew Ferraro (Crowell & Moring) for a session titled, “Minds, Machines and Robots: Law and Ethics of Autonomous Systems.”

The session examines emerging intellectual property risks and strategies in the autonomous vehicle (AV) industry, including rising patent litigation, trade secret enforcement, and evolving technology architectures. Panelists will explore how companies balance innovation, cost, and regulatory compliance while protecting AI-driven systems and proprietary data. The discussion will also address the growing role of global regulation and its impact on IP strategy and commercialization.

The Summit brings together leading practitioners, in-house counsel, and academics for a dynamic, one-day program focused on the most pressing issues shaping patent practice today. The conference provides diverse perspectives to explore evolving USPTO priorities, recent case law developments, emerging challenges in semiconductor innovation, and the growing intersection of privacy, data security, and patent strategy.
