Biography
Emma is a Technical Specialist within Marshall Gerstein’s Electrical & Computer Technologies Group, where she assists with drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Emma has extensive experience examining patent applications, including reviewing prior art for relevant concepts, sending out detailed Office actions and conducting interviews with attorneys and agents.

Background and Credentials
Prior to joining Marshall Gerstein, Emma was a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Emma earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University, where she conducted original research in high energy physics as part of the Belle II experiment. She also obtained a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Haverford College.
