Cox To Speak in Brussels at the Licensing Executive Society International’s Annual Conference

Pamela L. Cox, partner and chair of IP Transactions, will participate in three panels during the 2015 Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) Annual Conference in Brussels, Belgium at the Steigenberger Grandhotel. The conference will take place from April 12 to April 15, 2015.

  • April 13: “WIPO Mock Mediation” – Ms. Cox, along with Adam Rattray from WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, Russell Levine from Kirkland & Ellis, John Ritter from Princeton University, Charles Valauskas from Valauskas Corder, and Mark Nell from Nagravision, will illustrate how to resolve an intellectual property contract and infringement dispute by mediation.
  • April 15: “The Future of Licensing Deals or Are We All Doing Acquisitions Now? Review From a Commercial Perspective” – Ms. Cox will introduce the first ever joint LES/PLG (Pharmaceutical Licensing Group) panel at LESI. The panel will share deal trends and comments about licensing vs. acquisition from both the corporate perspective and the VC perspective. Pamela Demain from Merck and President of LES USA/Canada, will moderate this panel and is joined by Sharon Finch from Medius Associates, Reginald Seeto from MedImmune, and Edward van Wezel from Biogeneration Ventures.
  • April 15: “Legal Watch-Outs in Life Science Deals” – Ms. Cox, Hayley French, Commercial Director and General Counsel from Apitope International NV, and Candida Caffe, from Dannemann Siemsen Bigler & Ipanema Moreira, will discuss legal issues to take into account when doing global license and development agreements.

Join Ms. Cox at the LESI Life Sciences Committee meeting on April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. (CET) in the Hermitage Room of the Steigenberger Grandhotel Brussels. As chair of the Committee, Ms. Cox is excited about the Committee's activities planned for 2015 and interested in your input and participation. 

Ms. Cox will also be representing Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA/Canada as an International Delegate at the International Management and Delegates Meeting from April 10-12.

The LESI Annual Conference is a gathering of 32 national and regional Member Societies comprised of executives that have an interest in the transfer of technology, or licensing of intellectual property rights - from technical know-how and patented inventions to software, copyright and trademarks. 

Pamela Cox concentrates on counseling related to intellectual property transactions, protection and transfer for clients ranging from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions. She is "highly recommended" for licensing, and described as one of "The World's Leading IP Patent and Technology Licensing Lawyers" by Intellectual Asset Management. Ms. Cox is active in the profession, serves on the Board of Governors of CLP, holds leadership positions within AUTM, LES and LESI, and is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law.
