Biography

Kelly M. Kleinwachter is a seasoned trademark professional with more than 20 years of experience in U.S. and international trademark clearance and prosecution, brand protection, and global portfolio management. As the firm’s Trademark Paralegal Supervisor, Kelly oversees all aspects of domestic and foreign trademark preparation, filing, and prosecution while managing and mentoring a team of trademark paralegals and paralegal assistants.

In her leadership role, Kelly directs workflow distribution, provides training and professional development, and ensures that all trademark matters are handled with accuracy, efficiency, and strategic insight. She collaborates closely with attorneys, clients, and foreign counsel, guiding her team through complex prosecution issues, ownership and assignment matters, and multi‑client portfolio maintenance. 

Since beginning her career as a paralegal in 2005, Kelly has developed deep mastery of the trademark prosecution process and remains committed to staying at the forefront of industry developments through active participation in professional organizations and ongoing education. Her blend of hands‑on expertise, leadership, and strategic problem‑solving makes her a trusted advisor to attorneys and clients navigating the complexities of global brand protection.

Background and Credentials

Kelly earned an associate of applied science in paralegal studies from Elgin Community College. The program is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). She is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and is currently serving her second term on the organization's Trademark Administrators Committee.

Kelly contributed as a Content Advisor for INTA’s Trademark Administrators Beginner Course and served as an Instructor for the Intermediate Course, where she developed and delivered online instructional content focused on preliminary trademark searching. In her current term, she will serve as Co‑Chair of the Committee’s Curriculum & Strategic Advancement Subcommittee, helping shape educational programming and strategic initiatives for trademark professionals worldwide.
