Background and Credentials
Prior to joining Marshall Gerstein, Lili was a Patent Agent at Venture Partner LLC, where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications across a broad range of chemical and life sciences technologies, including small-molecule therapeutics, antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), engineered peptides and proteins, modified RNA and RNA interference (RNAi) technologies, and T-cell therapies. She also conducted patentability analysis, invalidity analysis, freedom-to-operate (FTO) and patent due diligence analyses.
Before beginning her patent career, Lili held scientific research positions in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and in academia. As a Scientist at Microsensor Labs, she conducted biotechnology research and development. As a Postdoctoral Scientist at AstraZeneca, she contributed to early-stage drug discovery, studying interactions between small-molecule drug candidates and protein targets. Earlier, as a Research Associate at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, she conducted structural and functional studies of riboswitches.
Lili earned her Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
