Marshall Gerstein Attorneys Named to 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America List
Marshall Gerstein is excited to announce that four of our attorneys have been named to the 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America list. Partners Benjamin Horton, Heather Kissling, Sandip Patel, and Paul Stephens were once again recognized in the list, which honors the best litigators in the U.S. across a range of industries.
Ben, Heather, Sandip, and Paul have been included in the Lawdragon 500 every year since its inception in 2022. According to Lawdragon, “These lawyers win rights, or lose them. They have the abilities to change businesses and entire industries.”
Ben, chair of the firm’s IP Litigation Practice, is lauded for his work representing Fortune 100 companies, as well as cutting-edge research and development institutions and startups in high-tech disputes. He also takes on pro bono clients through Chicago’s Lawyers for the Creative Art. He has been quoted in dozens of publications and invited to speak at leading IP events across the country.
Heather serves as Chair of Marshall Gerstein's Prosecution Practice and she uses her experience in all phases of prosecution work to help biotechnology clients strategically develop and maintain patent portfolios to achieve business goals.
Sandip serves on Marshall Gerstein’s Executive Committee and provides strategic counseling in all areas of patent law. The clients he advises are diverse and include specialty chemical companies, universities, start-ups, and a variety of large, multinational corporations focused on biotechnology, chemicals, or consumer products.
A former IP litigator, Paul has represented clients at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and in district courts across the country, including successful litigation through jury trial. Today, his role in litigation is primarily managerial, counseling clients on cases filed by competitors and patent trolls and directing the liability phase of lawsuits—always in close concert with the firm’s highly skilled litigation partners and associates.
