Partner Benjamin Horton Authors Chapter on the Importance of Preparation to Successful Patent Litigation

Benjamin T. Horton is a contributing author of Inside the Minds: Litigation Strategies for Intellectual Property Cases, published by Aspatore Books, 2013. The book provides insider perspectives on handling intellectual property disputes, including topics ranging from global patent strategies to implementing best practices during contentious discovery matters. Authors are selected based on their experience and standing in the business and legal communities. In his chapter, “Preparation is Key to Successful Patent Litigation,” Mr. Horton discusses the steps to take before filing a patent infringement complaint, including the realities of client preparation and behind-the-scenes patent due diligence.

Mr. Horton litigates complex civil cases, primarily patent, copyright, and trademark disputes. Mr. Horton has a degree in electrical engineering and, before becoming a lawyer, worked for technology companies in the automotive and semiconductor industries. He is a member of the Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois and litigates intellectual property actions in federal courts across the country.
