Cox to Present AUTM Webinar on License Negotiations

Pamela L. Cox, partner and chair of IP Transactions, and Benjamin C. Dibling, Ph.D., assistant director of licensing at UCLA, will instruct a webinar entitled, “Negotiation of License Agreements” on August 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. CST. Using a case-study approach, the session will explore strategies to help technology transfer professionals negotiate through potential sticking points, while gaining momentum, preserving deal terms and maintaining solid long-term relationships with future licensees. The webinar is part of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM)’s online professional development programming.

Ms. Cox is a frequent speaker on license terms and negotiations. Her practice concentrates on counseling related to intellectual property transactions, protection and transfer for clients ranging from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions.

Dr. Dibling works closely with UCLA faculty, staff and students to help identify aspects of their research with commercial potential. He is responsible for evaluating new inventions, securing intellectual property protection where appropriate and licensing the university’s rights to both established companies and startups. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office.
