Cox to Present During MRUN’s CATTEC VIII Event

October 15, 2015
Chicago, IL

On October 15, 2015, Pamela L. Cox (Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP), Matthew McNeill (Rite-Hite Holding Corporation), Joseph Miotke (DeWitt Ross & Stevens SC), and Ada Nielsen (PeregrineMavine Group) will present “Where Is My Crystal Ball When I Need It? Good Deals Gone Bad: A Case Study in Structuring License Agreements to Survive the Convulsions of Commerce” during the Midwest Research University Network (MRUN) CATTEC VIII “Midwest Startups – Evolution of Innovation” program. The presenters will reenact the tale of a Midwestern university research scientist who believes he has found a new, significant cure for cancer. Loosely modeled on a real tale (different science, however), the story follows the expectations, ups and downs, and unexpected outcomes of what tends to happen on the road to commercialization.

CATTEC VIII brings together regional talent, ideas and capital in a showcase of emerging high-tech startups from leading Midwest universities and seed incubators. Entrepreneurs, university tech transfer professionals and investors engaged as startup facilitators, meet and develop connections that strengthen the Midwest’s new venture innovation network.

Pamela Cox, partner and chair of IP Transactions, concentrates on counseling related to intellectual property transactions, protection and transfer for clients ranging from multinational corporations to non-profit institutions. She is "highly recommended" for licensing, and described as one of "The World's Leading IP Patent and Technology Licensing Lawyers" by Intellectual Asset Management. Active in the profession, Ms. Cox serves on the Board of Governors of Certified Licensing Professionals (CLP), holds leadership positions within Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), Licensing Executives Society (LES) and Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), and serves as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law.
