Biography
Ryan is a Patent Agent within Marshall Gerstein's Electrical & Computer Technologies Group. In addition to assisting with drafting and prosecuting patent applications, he routinely performs due diligence and freedom to operate analyses. Ryan has experience in a wide range of computer science subdisciplines, including algorithms, computer vision, and databases.

Background and Credentials
Prior to joining Marshall Gerstein, Ryan served as an Innovation Fellow at the University of Michigan’s technology transfer office (Innovation Partnerships). While there, he conducted technological due diligence to assess the novelty of university inventions, performed market research to determine commercialization potential, and assisted in negotiating agreements for the university. Before the start of his career in intellectual property, Ryan conducted research as a computer science graduate student at Purdue University, the Ohio State University, and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
