Biography
Prior to joining Marshall Gerstein as an Associate in 2023, Whitney served as a Summer Associate within the IP Litigation practice after her first and second years of law school.
Whitney focuses her practice on patent litigation within Marshall Gerstein's Biotechnology & Life Sciences practice. She handles matters in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, biotechnology, and healthcare.
Whitney's hobbies include golfing, photography, studying French language and culture, and international travel.

Background and Credentials
Whitney received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was awarded the Chancellor's Law Scholarship, and her M.S. in Finance from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management. After being awarded the Legacy Scholarship from Howard University, she received her B.S. in Chemistry, magna cum laude. She also made the Dean’s List and double minored in Allied Sciences and Sociology.
After receiving the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, Whitney spent a semester abroad in England, studying public health at Oxford University while working as a service-learning intern at the British Heart Foundation in London. She finished her semester abroad at the University of West Indies, Mona School of Nursing in Kingston, Jamaica, where she volunteered and shadowed pharmacists at various clinics. After returning from studying abroad, Whitney interned at Howard’s College of Medicine where she assisted in testing Howard University Hospital patients for HIV and then collected and analyzed data from the results. Prior to her senior year, she was an Executive Student Researcher at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa, where she conducted research for developing anti-cancer drugs.
Prior to starting law school, Whitney was a Supplemental Instructor and Tutor at a community college in Michigan where, given her background in chemistry, she taught chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer information systems.
