Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for first-year associates is $160,000.
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun values the balance of careers and family, providing flexible work schedules based upon years of service and each attorney's career path. The firm provides competitive benefits for attorneys and other professionals. All permanent employees are eligible for:
- Group medical and dental insurance, including domestic partners
- Life, short- and long-term disability insurance
- Cafeteria plan for pre-tax medical expense, dependent care, commuting and parking expense reimbursement
- 401K savings plan and profit sharing, totaling as much as an additional eight percent of an employee's salary
- Paid maternity and adoption leave
The firm provides a summer stipend to graduates studying for the bar exam and pays for all expenses related to the exam. The firm pays the fees for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, state and local bar associations, bar application fees and bar review courses. We also reimburse new associates and lateral partners for moving expenses.
