March 13, 2023

Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP is pleased to announce that firm partners Thomas Duston and Benjamin Horton have been recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as “Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys” for 2023. The guide spotlights the Chicago area’s top trial lawyers and litigators for their professional and community successes and accomplishments over the last 18 months.

Tom Duston is praised for his significant victories for his clients and his meaningful pro bono work. Deeply committed to the law, IP and local communities, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Judicature Society, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Intellectual Property Owners Association, and the Executives’ Club of Chicago.

Ben Horton, chair of the firm’s IP Litigation Practice, is lauded for his work representing Fortune 100 companies, as well as cutting-edge research and development institutions and startups in high-tech disputes. He also takes on pro bono clients through Chicago’s Lawyers for the Creative Arts and most recently represented a documentary filmmaker and author. He has been quoted in dozens of publications and invited to speak at leading IP events across the country.

Honorees for Crain’s Chicago Business’ “Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys” are chosen based on several criteria, including client cases and pro bono work, impact on the firm’s business, advocacy for inclusive practices in the workplace and profession, abilities as a mentor or role model, leadership in professional and civic organizations, and time spent practicing law.

Tom and Ben are profiled in the March 13 print edition of Crain’s Chicago Business and on the publication’s website: https://www.chicagobusiness.com/law/crains-notable-litigators-and-trial-attorneys-2023
