Julianne M. Hartzell to Speak at PLI’s 2014 Patent Litigation Workshop

Julianne M. Hartzell will speak during Practising Law Institute (PLI)'s Patent Litigation Workshop 2014: Ethical Issues in Patent Litigation. The workshop will take place on October 6–7, 2014, at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center in Chicago. Julianne will address ethical issues in patent litigation. The workshop will address all steps of the patent litigation process—from pre-suit Rule 11 compliance through trial and appeal. Participants also will receive information on how to identify boundaries between ethical transgression and zealous advocacy, including the USPTO ethics that apply to licensed practitioners. At Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, Ms. Hartzell works with inventors and corporations in the fields of consumer products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and internet technology. She handles all forms of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation. She also has experience enforcing covenants not-to-compete and confidentiality agreements. Ms. Hartzell obtained her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and previously earned a B.S. in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.
