Marshall, Gerstein & Borun Welcomes Four New Partners

Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, an intellectual property law firm, announces that Greg Chinlund, Julianne Hartzell, Mark Izraelewicz and John Labbé have been promoted to partner. These promotions bring the firm’s total partnership to 42.

Their experience in a range of substantive areas uniquely positions them to counsel clients regarding the best ways to protect and capitalize on their valuable intellectual property assets,” said Jeffrey S. Chinlund focuses on the areas of trademarks, copyrights, design patents, trade secrets and the Internet, including counseling, prosecution, transactions and litigation. Chinlund received his J.D., cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law (1996) and his B.A. in marketing from Iowa State University (1993).

Hartzell's practice comprises all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret cases in the consumer products, automotive components, Internet, medical devices and pharmaceuticals industries. Hartzell is a member of the Board of Directors for the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law Firms. She received her J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School (2001), and her B.S. in mechanical and biomedical engineering from Duke University (1998). Hartzell is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Assisting clients in the biotechnology and chemistry industries, Izraelewicz focuses on patents, with an emphasis on patent litigation. Izraelewicz received his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School (2001), where he was a Baker Scholar. He received his M.S. from the University of California, San Diego (1997), where he received the Harold C. Urey Graduate Fellowship and conducted research at The Scripps Research Institute, and his B.S. in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1995). Izraelewicz is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Representing clients in intellectual property disputes including patent, trade secret and trademark cases, Labbé has broad experience in all phases of litigation. Labbé served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Algenon L. Marbley of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law (2002), where he served as the executive editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. Labbé received his B.A. in biological sciences from Northwestern University (1998). He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
